Armenian Holidays

Not long ago we found out how people in different countries celebrate New Year. To keep on the festive spirit after the winter celebrations we will try to tell you about holidays more often. Let us begin with Armenia as it was the Tatev monastery that became the number one Vizerra project!

The editorial board of the 'Yerevan' magazine has been very helpful in the preparation of this post. So together we will tell you about the most interesting holidays in Armenia.

Armenia was the first country in the world where Christianity became an established religion. It came to Armenia very early, at the beginning of the IV century, when pagan beliefs were still strong. That’s why all the Christian traditions are intricately interwoven with pagan and unique national rituals.
