Interview With Photographer Eugene Dobryanskiy
Eugene Dobryanskiy who made photoshoot for the 3D location of Palace Square responded to questions of Vizerra team.
Please tell us about yourself. Where do you currently live and work?
I live and work in St. Petersburg.
How did you get into photography?
One time I worked as an assistant photographer, but it was long ago and did not last long. My interest in photography originated when in connection with my hobby I needed to make some qualitative thematic images. Picking up the borrowed Zenit camera, I had discovered that photography is a complex and interesting process, and soon taking pictures was my hobby too.
So how was it like to work on the Palace Square?
Since I started my work back in February, I had to take pictures in quite difficult conditions: because of the frost I could not have been outside for a long time, ice did not allow me to put the tripod stable, and the snow hid a pattern on the pavement. Over time, the street became warmer, daylight hours became longer and the snow melted, and in the last days of shooting workflow became more like a walk in the city.
How many photos have you done at a photo shoot for Vizerra on the Palace Square? Which one is your favorite?
Approximately 1100 photographs. Since the photoshoot was technical, I cannot choose the favorite one. There is an artistic photo made in the same period:
What kind of equipment and software do you use in your work?
Cameras:
Sony A100
Minolta Dynax 7
Lenses:
50/1.4
24/2.8
135/2.8
The main software I use is Lightroom.
What is your favorite place for taking pictures?
Perhaps it is the studio, despite the fact that I don’t shoot very often in the studio.
What is the most spectacular sight you’ve ever seen?
Northern Finland and Norway. Something like this:
What things inspire you for your work?
I would prefer not to answer to this question, because the inspiration visits me not very often.
Which photo is your most favorite one among all you’ve done?
Let it be this one:
