Giant AVE station is being constructed in Barcelona

Untitled-3 Construction of the La Sagrera station, the largest building in Barcelona, has already begun and the first phase supposed to be ready this spring. The initial part of the construction will be finished in four years due to its scale. The effort and investment amount are similar to the preparation for the Olympic Games 1992 in Barcelona. The total cost of the construction including roads will be 613 million Euros.

Machu Picchu: 100 years of a new life

IStock_000015090775XSmall 2011 in Peru was called the year of Machu Picchu, because 100 years ago this amazing world’s wonder was found. Until that moment the ancient Inca city which consists of two hundred buildings had been a secret from the rest of the world. Nobody expected that at the top of the ridge at an altitude of 2,450 meters above the sea level professor Hiram Bingham with a group of American researchers would find an architectural heritage of ancient civilization. Since then, there were many disputes between the Peruvian Government and the representatives of Yale University about the place where artifacts from Machu Picchu should be stored. And only in February 2011 the opponents made a deal and agreed to open a joint research center in Cusco - the neighboring city of Machu Picchu.
