Russian innovation in Spain: Skolkovo Fund and VIZERRA demonstrate their achievements

May 12, 2011, Madrid. Skolkovo Fund and VIZERRA presented Russian innovations at the "Science, technology and innovation achievements of Russia" exhibition, which started in Madrid today and will continue its work until May 15. The event was held as part of a Russia – Spain cross year in the Feria de Madrid exhibition complex. The exhibition presents the most promising Russian projects, technology and development efforts aimed at enhancing investment cooperation between Russia and Spain.

A special presentation was held at the Skolkovo Fund booth. Several Russian and Spanish officials – A.D. Zhukov, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Miguel Sebastian, Industry Minister, S.R. Ivanets,

 

Brest Fortress Defense

Brest fortress stood near the USSR border on the Western Bug, and it was surprisingly attacked by Hitler's forces in the first minutes of the war. 7000-8000 people remained in the fortress in the pre-war night. There were the training, support and military units in its territory. The fortress also housed the Brest military hospital, families of soldiers, hospital workers and other civilians. Most of the civilians died in attacks and shelling in the earliest days of the defense.
